The Association for the Blind would like to acknowledge the work of Crispin Sexton and Nyree Summerfield for the development of the Teaching Resources section of our website.
These materials have been prepared using the Western Australian Curriculum Framework and are designed primarily for teachers of the middle and upper primary years.
There are six modules in all, each including material that students can use directly on the Web, Student Activity Sheets and detailed Programmes for classroom teachers. It is hoped that teachers will use the materials to plan units of work for their classes and plan a visit to the Association’s new Discovery Centre.
We trust you will find the resource of immense value in your classroom and look forward to hosting your visit to the Discovery Centre.

Module1- Eye Health
This Module links directly with Health and Science based outcomes through the exploration of the eye, the different types of eye damage that can occur, and the ways in which blindness can be prevented through a variety of simple techniques such as good diet and wearing sunglasses.
