A child with a vision impairment needs assistance to develop good physical co-ordination, independent movement, social skills and daily living skills.

Children’s Services aim to enable each child, blind or vision impaired, to achieve their full potential. Most of the work is carried out in the child’s home and the community. Services are provided free of charge.

Referral to the service can be made by parents or professionals. Initially, a social worker discusses the family’s needs with the child’s parents.
